Marcus' Pad
I was eating some really good
Indian food with friends from at Lett Em Sleep Inn,
Nicole
& Hans , and we asked a guy behind us if he would take
a picture of us. Turns out that he could speak English and had
been harmlessly eavesdropping on our gossip. He complimented my
digi and mentioned that he wanted a similar camera to compliment
his web development. After chatting about digital media for too
long, and boring the Nicole & Hans, he recommended a cocktail
bar where we could prolong our merriment. Hans & Nicole flirting
with each other so Marcus and I continued with more digital gossip.
Having similar interests, Marcus and I hit it off pretty well.
Later he offered to save me me some money with a bed at his flat
for my remaining two days in Berlin.
The first night, of the two at his flat, he asked if Id
like to see Berlin from the rooftops. He told me that had been
looking for a building that had roof access and had recently found
a route. So we walked down the block and then quietly into a random
building, across the courtyard, and up the stairwell till we came
to an attic with an antiquated wood ladder, which we climbed in
the pitch dark to the roof. All the buildings are built directly
adjacent to each other so once you are on the roof you can essentially
walk around the entire block. But one penthouse on the block,
surrounded by impassable barbed wire, made a roundtrip unfeasible.
But I did take a few pics of the great views.

Marcus did me a great favor by taking the digital photos off
my compact flash cards and burning them onto a CD. This gave me
the freedom to be trigger happy again. Thanks so much Marcus!
I regret that, as I left his flat in such a hurry to catch my
train to Poznan, that I forgot to take a photo of Marcus. (Marcus,
please get back to me with a photo, Id love to add one.)
