Brugge: a la Bruno
I rolled over again making sure to get my proper beauty sleep
and noticed that there were still two others sawing logs.
All of a sudden Bruno walks in and tells me that he overslept
his alarms and had decided to quit his job! I guess that moving
packed fish crates around wouldn't be that exciting if you had
to do it in ten hour shifts.
So I got dressed, met him in the bar and on the way out this
girl overheard that we were going to see the sites of Brugge and
asked to join in. So we, Bruno,
Lisa and I went to see the towers, churches and this house
were a really rich family lived. [Look
at the candle holder, can you picture how big the candle would
be?] They had built their house right next to the church and
had a private
balcony in the church that was accessed via the house. [I
really like the spiral staircases] [2] [3] [Lisa
liked the railing sculptures] [nice
private gardens] [early
machine gun]
Bruno said that we had seen all that was really worth seeing,
so we got some pizza and then went window shopping. We found a
chocolate shop [2] [3] that had some interesting full
size chocolates . I've been looking for a watch but haven't
found one that I like that's affordable. Not having a watch is
also a good way to meet girls... I mean people. We rested at a
park for a bit and happened upon the Miss
Belgium contestants having a picnic and enjoying the sun.
Lisa and I went back to the Bauhaus and had some more of their
great
food. Because The Crash was closed, Bruno, Bart, Karen and
Dirk came to the hostel for a few beers.
It's a bit strange hanging out with these four. They are all
between 16-19 but they are so much more mature than friends and
acquaintances I've had at their ages. The most shocking is that
Bart is 16, the same age as my brother, and he smokes like a chimney
and can drink like a fish.
