The benefits of Irish Pubs

Kate, Helen & I arrived in Vienna totally pooped out. Helen knew were a close hostel was so we followed her.

At the clean and warm Wombat Hostel Vienna we caught up on sleep, washed our clothes, and ourselves), and then went out in search of some fun.

We hadn't walked too far when we decided to see a movie. American Pie 2 was playing in English... and we hadn't seen a movie in a while.

After our share of laughs, we happened upon an Irish pub and took a few brews. The guys at the table next to us started talking to us (all in English) and soon we were all having a great time with [our new friends] . [I & Gregor] [+Andre] [Flo & Helen] [Roland & Kate]

During the evening, Roland had asked about where I was staying and offered me a place at this pad whenever I wanted.

So the next day, when Helen & Kate took off to Krakow, Poland, I called up Roland. He met me and then walked me to his place. His buddies came over and we hung out for the evening.

I assumed Roli had a fold-out bed or extra mattress, because I was surprised when he offered me his hammock... It was a rough night but I made it.

To thank him for the hospitality I treated him for [breakfast] at the Blue Box. Having not much to do on a lazy Sunday, Roli took me on a tour of Vienna sights including Prata where we rode the [Superman] and nearby his house a giant nazi stronghold that is now an [aquarium] [2] . There used to be huge guns up on those round concrete slabs. The concrete is two or more meters thick for protection from bombs; perfect to hold lots of water.

Comments

the giant nazi stronghold you speak of is a falk tower, designedfor shooting down american planes that were trying to destroy the beautiful city.
