Shocking Situation

On the road again, Rob and I, headed to Lucerne

The [lake] was a little overcast, concealing many beautiful sights.

We checked out the transportation museum that had mini to full-size versions of every kind of transport. I got to use a computer simulator to experience being a real train engineer. There was also a small convention of model train vendors exhibiting their latest computer controller's and Astroturf mini mountains. Model train-ing is a popular hobby in die Schwietz.

We hiked up the northern hill to the huge castle like wall. We explored it and it's towers just before it closed and then hiked across town an up another hill to a small castle that is now a multiple-star restaurant. We sat on the patio admiring the evening view of the city and the expensively dressed dinner guests.

Descending, we stopped at a small turret to admire another view. There were some kids who were pretending to to be snorting cocaine, trying to make us believe that they really were. Just as we were leaving they asked us where we were from and Rob shouted back "America." From a distance we heard, "know you Homer Simpson?," and then a bunch of laughing.

Now, you may be asking where's all the photos Beau? The last page had so many and this page only has one... What's the deal. Well, I ran out of batteries and had forgotten the spare set. I wouldn't have regretted my fault in not bringing extra batteries, if it weren't for what we saw at the bottom of our decent...

Just before we neared the bottom we heard two, what sounded like, gun shots. But, because Switzerland is such a safe place, we passed them off as something else.

But at the bottom noticed a small group of people around an old lady. Getting closer, we noticed a pool of blood that had excaped from a hole in her leg. Rob then noticed a man on his balcony down the street waving a gun around, and we all quickly dove for cover around buildings and behind cars.

Rob discovered that that the man with the gun had been shooting at another man who was messing around with his girl and who owed him drug money. As the second man was running away, the first shot missed him. He then pulled the old lady in front of him and she took the second shot...

I'm not sure if she survived or what more happened because the police escorted us away after we told them what we knew...

Quite a shocking situation to find in Switzerland...
