Mihau + Ola

The train to Prague was a little scary with the eastern European trains. They're the hand-me-downs from western countries and are significantly older and less comfortable. There was hardly anyone on the train so I made myself comfortable across a few chairs.

The conductor woke me up to tell me something important but I had no clue what he was talking about. When the train stopped and everyone was getting off I figured that I should follow suit.

I asked a young couple what was going on and they said that the tracks ahead were not good to travel on and that a bus would take us to the next town where we would board another train.

The young couple, [Mihau and Ola] were from Gdansk and were spending a extended weekend in their favorite cheap town.

Not knowing where I was staying, they invited me to come with them. We arrived and followed Mihau through the downtown, across the Charles Bridge, and up the hill on the west side of town (a big fucking hill).

The [hostel] operated as dorms during the school year and my [room] was pretty basic. But they had an [interesting claim: Free Beer] that might attract a lot of people. We did get our rooms cheap ($5/night) but we never found the place where you get your free beer. =(

Hola was not feeling so well so Mihou and I took off and found some really good pizzas that were huge, delicious & cheap (~$3).
