Tour with Willi

I've told the Halpsgurth's in Poland that I will be arriving on the first of September, and there was a reduced ticket price if I took the train on the 31st. Even though the timing was right to leave Berlin, I wasn't.

Berlin had so many new and exciting things to experience. Having them in the setting of a bomb ridden city but also the current construction capital of the world made the mixture that much more exciting.

I called Willy, my accidental first guide in Berlin, to see if he’d like to hangout for the day. [Willy and I] I told him that I had already seen the big sites of Berlin so he had suggested taking me on a tour of some less common locations that he enjoyed. There was the [Humboldt University Library] with a nice ivy façade, we toured the Sony building, some of the parks, there was a huge stage being set-up for some popular [German band that I had never heard of] (we caught the singers in a practice session).

He had plans for later in the afternoon so I took the U-bahn to the IFA (Internationale Funkausstellung), a colossal electronics conference at the Internationalen Congress Centrum (ICC). I spent a few hours scoping cars decked out in the latest sound systems and various, quite cheesy, entertainers to debut new products. [dancers promoting some random product] [nighttime fire show] [Sony Room]

(I wish that I had taken more photos in Berlin, but my cards were getting a little too full and I wasn't sure when the next time that I could upload photos would be. I do plan on going back to Berlin for another week later on my trip)
