Dancin' in the New Year

Ilse and Regina invited me to a huge ball going on in a neighboring village. My relatives pimped me out in some fun threads and I was stylin.

The Ball wasn't as exciting as it could have been. The place was packed, actually the amount of people ruined the atmosphere and led to the place being a little more trashed than comfortable. But it wasn't all bad...

One Austrian tradition that is really great is the Midnight Skit. Every dance or ball there is a skit performed at midnight. The actors usually rehearse beforehand but they also take in their share of booze which makes the performance all the better. This skit was about a cowboy who stole from the rich and gave to the poor. His horse was played by two people in a horse costume that were hysterical because the 'better half' couldn't see anything and could only follow his 'head.' But the 'head' had apparently had few and didn't wait around for the 'tail.' Another funny part was when the cowboy tried to pay with a huge sack of Austrian shillings and the bartender put up a sign that read only Euro... funny because of the recent monetary change on the continent... but I guess that it was one of those things where you really had to be there....

Beau, you look like a cute teddy bear! We miss you in Budapest! Come back! Come back! Come back and we'll go to the Bath party ON TIME! (Jay says hello as well. He's lonely without you.)
