Day Trip: Bechburg Castle
Rob came to Switzerland with a promise of work with the same company
that Eden works for. But when he did something a little too efficient
for his position in the comany, it offended a superior and somehow
lead to his current state of unemployment. Normally one would
think that this is a not so good situation with college loans,
rent, & the normal stack of bills, but during my visit it
was a good situation because he and I were able to drive all over
Switzerland. During my two weeks in Switzerand we saw a lot together.
Our first trip was a small one, a half hour away, to [Bechburg
Castle] . It currently serves the community as an art gallery,
cafe, and community center.
I want a [stone
spiral staircase] like this in my castle some day. [climbing
the tower] [the
tower was pretty high] [town
of Bechberg below] [Rob

After exploring the castle we drove up to a small Gästehaus.
From there we hiked up to explore [the
cliffs] above the castle. At the top I kept kicking myself
for forgetting my camera in the car because the 360º view was
fantastic. The winds were just right on the cliffs so that you
could hear the cowbells from the valley on one side and the train
on the other.
I have a gap from c.1461 (Falkenstein>Ffauw>Pfauz) until c.1690 (PFAUTZ) in Rohrbach, De. I know this is my line because about 9 families that moved with and intermarried were from Mulhouse, S.E. c. 80 Km, to Oberklum , Huber( President Herbert Hoover's line). Niev(Neff), Maust (Mast), Spainhour, Yanz (Younce).
